It all started in 2013…
My name is Rachel Rajput, and I founded Left Coast Power Yoga in 2013 to bring a challenging, heated Power Yoga studio to the Oakland community. We started in our original small space on Grand Avenue, which we still have open today.
At Left Coast, we are a beautiful community of misfits. Our community spans all sizes, shapes, colors, and genders. We are working folks: 9 to 5-ers, self-employed peeps, techies, soccer moms, gig workers, waitresses, teachers, and just about everything else you can think of. We have one thing in common: we are lifelong learners of the yoga practice.
We have “followed our practice” and it has brought us here.
Over the years, our community has grown exponentially and we now offer classes, workshops, retreats, student outreach and more. We have run three 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Accredited Teacher Trainings and are looking forward our fourth, starting in January 2021.

A dynamic and vigorous flowing practice. Our yoga studios are heated (around 85-90 degrees), but check out current schedule, we have unheated classes too!
A total-body workout that tones muscles and detoxifies organs.
Radiant skin and improved energy!
An open, welcoming community of like-minded folks.
Intended to be practiced 3 times a week or more.
Consistent. Students will get the same high quality instruction from any of our teachers.
A place where gatherings, music, and art happen too!
Dedicated to volunteering in local schools to bring Yoga to the community.
